Aishath Shakeela is
the Head of the Food and Beverage Department in the Faculty for Hospitality
and Tourism Studies at Maldives College of Higher Education. Born in Malé,
the capital of
Maldives,
Aishath became interested in the tourism industry at an early age. She
completed General Hotel and Hospitality Management at
Leeds Metropolitan
University [Leeds, United Kingdom], before going on to advance her
professional path with an Instructor in Hotel Industry program at
Wirtschaftsakademie
[Schleswig-Holstein, Germany], where she received the best overall
student award of the batch. She advanced her skills in the culinary art at Bavaria Hotelfachschule (Altötting, Germany).
Aishath plays an active role
in the training of people for the tourism industry in the Maldives. Fluent
in German language, she also presented the first ever German language course
on the Maldivian National radio [Voice of Maldives].
Aishath
was awarded a Masters of Arts
[Hospitality Management]
with Distinction by the
University of Birmingham [Birmingham, United
Kingdom] in 2003.
